We currently have the following opportunity based in Nanaimo: Director of Finance

Vancouver Island Regional Library requires an experienced analytical and innovative individual to develop and maintain a comprehensive financial plan to ensure that VIRL is a financially viable and fiscally responsible organization.

The Director of Finance is a member of the Senior Management Team and plays a key role in system wide strategic planning. This position provides leadership to the Financial Services division; offers advice to the Library Board and is responsible for the overall management and administration of the division.   Working well with other disciplines is critical to success.

The right individual will be interested in seeing the Finance Division excel in providing useful relevant information for decision makers and managers in the organization.

This position will appeal to a resourceful and adaptable individual with a high level of creativity, innovation, self-direction, tact, confidentiality and the ability to work under pressure and within tight timeframes.  Requirements include: a Professional Accounting degree (CA, CGA, or CMA); and have five or more years relevant public sector experience that demonstrates growth and experience.
