The Lead Application Software Developer is responsible for  the completion of project deliverable and is accountable for the overall analysis, design, development, implementation and support of applications to ensure and/or maintain alignment with the Lines Of Business (LOBs) within the Wealth Management area.  The Lead Application Software Developer suggests improvements and implements innovative ideas for the projects that they will be working on.  The Lead Application Software Developer typically deals at a high level of complexity and scope.

Provides coaching and guidance to team members and/or may act as a team/project lead in order to foster professional development of the Application Software Development staff. This helps improve overall effectiveness by sharing and adopting best practices and lessons learned, while minimizing risk
Leads process and application improvement opportunities to improve the reliability and extensibility of the application and to improve the overall Service Level Agreement (SLA)
Liaises with third party vendors, when appropriate, to ensure that the integration of third party products and existing applications and systems is practical and feasible given the underlining technologies
Collaborates with Development Technology Services (DTS) in the requirements definition and analysis and to select development, testing, and implementation tools for the Application Software Development staff
Leads/participates in software development Process Action Teams and contributes to the continuous improvement of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) processes for the overall effectiveness of the development

What does success look like?

You are a full cycle accountant, able to do or oversee the daily transactional accounting, and produce monthly reporting
You have strong communication skills, and can comfortably review financial and KPI results with senior management
Your proven leader and mentorship skills will allow you to continue to grow a junior but eager accounting team and general office staff
You have worked with intercompany entries, cost allocations, WIP activity, and inventory
You thrive in an operational setting, and want to work closely with operations to learn the business and in turn add value to the business
Your understanding of internal controls will ensure appropriate processes are improved and followed
You can monitor AR balances to ensure timely cash receipts
Assisting in the budget and forecasting process will help the business meet targets

You are

A designated accountant (CA, CMA, CGA)
Proven full cycle accounting skills for 3+ years
Excited by the opportunity to relocate to Ft McMurray, or already living there
