Procurement Director – Clearwater Seafood Limited Partnership – Bedford, Nova Scotia

Clearwater Seafoods requires a Procurement Director, Global Supply Chain.  The position is a fulltime position and will be located in Bedford, Nova Scotia.

Reporting Structure

This individual will report to the President – Global Supply Chain

Overall Role Purpose

To procure all supplies, consumables, and, where applicable, raw materials for all Fleet and land based operations.

Major Responsibilities:

Design a global procurement team that negotiates and buys all raw materials and equipment, spare parts and packaging materials for Fleet and the factories in St. Anthony, Grand Bank, Glace Bay, Lockeport and Arichat; as well as the Bedford and Lunenburg offices.
Set up a 1-2 year procurement organization consolidation plan.
Set up category buying throughout the supply chain and consolidate the organization between Fleet and land based operations where possible.
Set up KPIs to measure our supplier base service to our business.
Define a 3-5 year procurement strategy including a 1-3 year detailed  plan for procurement savings and work with the finance organization to measure and report these savings.
Responsible for the management, administration, and supervision of the Company’s buying programs for services for materials and equipment, and, where applicable, for supplies and services.
Responsible for translating business needs into a purchase and service contract and negotiating price.
Responsible for discussing supplier service levels with business and suppliers to continuously improve the service to the business.
Responsible for keeping files and contacts in an orderly fashion and in a central location.
Responsible for planning, developing, and buying materials, parts, supplies and equipment in a cost effective way and timely manner while maintaining appropriate quality standards and specifications.
Liaise with Accounts Payable department to ensure accurate and timely payment of invoices as necessary.
Ensure supplier compliance with Company requirements of information, equipment and safety.

Working Conditions

Travel to production plants, Fleet office, other offices and suppliers’ locations is required.  International travel may be required.

Qualifications

10 years’ experience in a senior buying position.
Previously responsible for multi-category buying.
Budget experience > $50 million.
Experience with capital equipment buying.
