Property Accountant – The Hardman Group Limited – Halifax City, Nova Scotia

The Hardman Group Limited, an established Atlantic Canadian real estate developer and manager of commercial real estate, is seeking an energetic individual to join its team as Property Accountant at its head office in Halifax to fill an upcoming maternity leave.  The position is expected to last a minimum of 9 to 12 months.

Accounting responsibilities include preparation of monthly financial statements and working papers, entering of accounts payable invoices, cheque runs, posting of cash receipts, cash counts and preparation of bank deposits. Additional accounting responsibilities include preparation of monthly HST remittances, processing of expense claims, assistance in financial analysis and completion of annual budgets as well as filing and other general administrative duties.

As the ideal candidate, you have either an accounting diploma from a community college or post-secondary education in accounting and/or a minimum of two years’ experience in this capacity. You possess strong analytical, organizational, written and oral communication skills and are able to work well both individually and as a team player in a fast-paced environment to consistently meet all deadlines. You are proficient in all Microsoft Office applications and have demonstrated data entry skills.  Should you be selected for an interview, you may be required to undergo competency testing.  A willingness to learn and take on new responsibilities is essential.
Salary will be commensurate with education and experience.
