Our menu of products and services includes event management; custom publishing; corporate consulting and marketing; online communications and marketing; sponsorships, fundraising; and green investing.
We are now seeking a motivated, experienced Sales Account Specialist to join the Green Living sales team, selling primarily exhibit space and sponsorship in the Green Living Show as well as our other products and services where applicable and possible. This challenging role offers sales potential and business development in many diverse industries that encompass every aspect of a green lifestyle.
Purpose of the Position:
Reporting to VP, Client Services and the Show Director, the incumbent will be responsible for selling exhibit space and other Green Living products and services via telephone and face-to-face call(s). The incumbent will sell to both current clients and prospect accounts.
Meet weekly, monthly and annual sales goals and targets.
Develop and maintain relationships with exhibitors and clients, while ensuring customer satisfaction and promoting good customer service.
Become a “trusted advisor” to our customers.
Through use of our consumer research, understand our customer demographic and use this information to help our exhibitors and clients do a better job reaching their customers.
Attend and participate in weekly sales meeting.
Be prepared to make 50 cold calls per day or more, if appropriate.
Constantly seek out leads for potential exhibitors and clients from every possible source such as advertisers in other media, internet sources, competitive shows, association members, etc.
Constantly build and maintain sales database.
Attend all appropriate competitive shows/events and follow-up on leads immediately.
Source sponsorship leads where possible.
Understand our Features, Marketing/Promotional Plan and utilize this information in the sales process.
Follow standard sales procedures in the office, including ensuring that all contracts are signed and space is paid in full prior to moving into the show.
Provide on-site floor management at the show and assist show management with the coordination of the move-in/move-out of the show.
Other duties as required.
Knowledge and Abilities:
3+ years of proven sales experience; preferably within an inside sales environment.
Strong knowledge of Microsoft applications.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills including presentation skills.
Focused on providing exceptional support to our customers with a positive attitude and friendly disposition.
Strong organizational skills, with the ability to multi-task and meet conflicting deadlines in a team work environment.
Knowledge of the organizations and businesses within the environmental community is an asset.
Some knowledge or experience in the Exhibitions industry considered an asset.
Ability to work independently and within a team environment
Compensation will be commensurate with experience and all aspects of what a candidate can offer Green Living will be considered.
