Assistant Manager of Hope and District Recreation Services – Fraser Valley Regional District

The Fraser Valley Regional District (FVRD) is comprised of six member municipalities and eight Electoral Areas, each containing numerous unique communities, cultures and landscapes. The FVRD covers roughly 13,900 square kilometers, equal to more than twice the size of Prince Edward Island.

We are accepting applications from qualified candidates for the position of Assistant Manager of Hope and District Recreation Services located in Hope, BC. Reporting directly to the Manager of Hope and District Recreation Services, the successful candidate will oversee the day to day operations related to financial administration, customer service, program development and facilities management. This diverse and fast paced environment requires the ideal candidate to have good leadership abilities.

The ideal candidate will possess:
A diploma in Business Administration or a related discipline with courses in accounting, budget preparation, or local government administration;
Experience in customer service, special event management, facility management and operational management in Local Government would be an asset;
Working knowledge of the principle objectives of organized community recreation would be a benefit;
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to express thoughts and ideas clearly, and ability to converse with a wide range of people including technical consultants, elected officials, staff, and the general public;
Strong facilitation skills and able to achieve positive outcomes;
The ability to research , gather, analyze and interpret information from various sources in preparation for presentations, making recommendations or reporting to Commissions, Boards, Council Meetings, and community groups; and
Strong organizational skills with the ability to multi-task, prioritize and problem solve;

The salary for this full-time exempt management position is commensurate with experience and is supplemented by a comprehensive benefit package.
