Equipment Operator IV – District of Saanich

The Engineering Department is seeking Equipment Operators to join the Public Works team. The successful candidates will be responsible for the safe operation and regular maintenance of heavy construction equipment such as rubber tire backhoes for trenching, digging, grading and excavation work. Requirements include: Grade 11 and completion of one full year vocational program or Grade 12 or equivalent; one year experience and on-the-job training in a public works environment; minimum EOCP Level I Certification in either Wastewater Collection or Water Distribution; Spill Responder training; Forklift Operator’s Certification; Front End Loader Operator’s Certification; valid Traffic Control Person Certification; possession of a valid Class 3 BC Driver’s Licence with air brake endorsement and annual renewal of Driver’s Abstract.
