$31.01 – 33.55 / hour        

The Town of High River, a rapidly growing rural Municipality in Southern Alberta, is inviting applications for a one year, temporary, full-time Community Peace Officer/Bylaw Enforcement Officer.

Under the general direction of the Manager of Protective Services, the Bylaw Enforcement Officer/Community Peace Officer is responsible for enforcement activities within the Town of High River which includes enforcement of Municipal Bylaws and specific Provincial Statutes.
 
The successful candidate for this position will meet the following minimum qualifications:

Grade 12 Diploma or GED
Eligibility for Alberta Community Peace Officers Level II status Appointment
Diploma in Law Enforcement and/or equivalent related experience
One (1) year related experience in bylaw
All required enhanced security clearances
Experience using databases/electronic filing systems
Bylaw certificates or memberships that may be required
Experience in court room proceedings and evidence collection
Basic First Aid and Level C CPR
Valid Class 5 Alberta Operator’s License with fewer than six (6) demerits

This position will require an individual who is available to work flexible hours, and shift work, including evenings and weekends.
