The Rick Hansen School Program (RHSP) provides administrators, teachers and students with a comprehensive set of resources that are designed to increase disability awareness, accessibility and inclusion to ultimately empower young people to make a difference in their school, community and the world.

We are currently seeking an energetic and innovative individual for a unique opportunity with the dynamic Schools Team in supporting both the content development and marketing aspects of the RHSP. The ideal candidate will be an excellent communicator and possess a strong track record of developing and implementing teaching resources, as well as youth engagement campaigns. POSITION SUMMARY

The Program Coordinator (Content Development & Marketing), RHSP, is responsible for the development of youth-facing materials and teaching resources; managing relationships with key RHSP partners and promoting the RHSP by overseeing the retention and recruitment of schools; liaising with school boards; and other promotional activities. This position reports to the Director, RHSP, and works closely with the RHSP team.

More specifically, the Program Coordinator:

Plans, coordinates and contributes to the development of teacher and youth-facing materials including:
Teaching resources (e.g. lesson plans, activity outlines, multimedia resources, etc.);
Youth engagement campaigns relating to disability (print and online); and
Overseeing relevant staff, volunteers and working groups contributing to the development of the materials.
Communicates with stakeholders (e.g. schools, school boards, Ministries of Education, NGOs, youth groups) across Canada to promote the program and drive recruitment, retention and engagement;
Supports educators and youth in implementing the program, including responding to questions and inquiries by phone or email;
Establishes, nurtures and tracks relationships with key contacts within schools, school boards and partner organizations;
Promotes, develops and delivers training sessions and workshops for educators and students;
In collaboration with Marketing & Communications (MarComm), liaises with internal stakeholders, including RD on the development of materials relating to RHSP and youth, including cases for support and stewardship reports;
Plans, coordinates and contributes to updates and improvements to the RHSP pages of the RHF website, including the management of content through Dot Net Nuke content management system;
Creates and curates RHSP content for RHF social media;
Researches issues relevant to the program and prepares briefing notes, reports and program materials;
Contributes to written materials including articles, newsletters, reports, communications to schools, etc.;
Assists with program evaluation and the collection of metrics;
Actively participates in the development of RHF Climate Goals, as well as promotes and supports the execution of climate action plans; and
Actively participates in team meetings.

QUALIFICATIONS

The ideal candidate will have:

Teaching qualifications and experience (in Canada);
Completion of courses in Marketing or an equivalent combination of education and experience;
A strong track record of developing and implementing youth-facing materials, including teaching resources and/or non-profit campaigns;
Previous experience coordinating projects and/or events, as well as establishing and nurturing relationships with educators and other partners;
Demonstrated expertise and experience with content management systems and social media tools;
Strong attention to detail and an ability to plan and manage the implementation of complex projects with multiple stakeholders;
A clear, concise and persuasive writing style;
Excellent interpersonal skills both in-person and via telephone;
An ability to deliver effective presentations;
A capacity to prioritize tasks and handle multiple initiatives simultaneously;
An ability to work independently and within specified timeline, as well as be a team player to establish effective working relationships with co-workers;
Strong research skills; and
French language skills (an asset).
