Construction Foreman – Lacombe County – Lacombe, AB

Lacombe County has a rewarding opportunity for an experienced individual to take on the leadership role of the County’s construction division. As a senior member of the Operations management team, the Construction Foreman position provides front line management for the construction crew and is responsible for maintaining and recon-structing the County’s road system, gravel pits, drainage, and special projects.

A snapshot of what you will do:

This position oversees all construction projects which includes working with landowners to negotiate land agree-ments, coordinating the scheduling of the location/relocation of all utilities for each project, and reviewing project plans to determine the priority and schedule of each job. This position manages the work of the construction crew by providing on-site supervision, establishes consistent performance standards and expectations, and ensures that work is accomplished in a safe and efficient manner.

Your attributes:

A hands-on person who enjoys working on site and is a proven effective leader with managing a crew through various phases of construction projects with safety as a key priority;
Able to be on-call for emergency situations;
Proficient in Microsoft Office applications with the ability to keep accurate records and write reports;
Strong communication skills with the proven ability to communicate with clarity, confidence, and open-mindedness;
Skillful in maintaining effective public relations with the general public;
Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and schedule various construction projects;
Previous supervisory experience in road construction is a definite asset;
Possession of a valid and acceptable class 5 operator’s license.
