Job Description

The successful applicant will join ESG’s Engineering department as a Product Engineer, reporting to the Applications Engineering Manager. The Product Engineer will be responsible for all engineering tasks relating to ESG’s product lines including:

Diagnostics and supervision of repair for non-conformant product and returned materials.
Development and maintenance of automated test platforms including hardware systems and software suites.
Management and implementation of changes to the product processes.
Management of key suppliers for product development and repair.
Analysis of failure root cause with feedback to the Research and Development team.
Support for Manufacturing including product assembly and test processes.
Training of Field Services and client support staff on products and problem solving techniques.
Generation of product specifications and documentation.
Investigation, resolution and documentation for client support requests and field visits.

Qualifications and Experience

Minimum bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering with a specialization in Electronics.
Minimum of two years of industrial experience, preferably in electronics development and/or testing.
Experience with shell scripting, perl, HTML, and C/C++ programming.
Knowledge of networking, data acquisition, instrumentation and LINUX.
Database design, management and SQL experience is an asset.
Exposure to industrial instrumentation systems, mining and petroleum technologies, and seismic monitoring would be a significant asset.
Experienced in multi-tasking and prioritization is required.
Highly motivated with strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Registration as a Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) or on track for registration by a provincial or territorial association.
Legally eligible to work in Canada.
