Quality Control Technician – Halliwell Consulting – Charlottetown

Our Client located in Charlottetown, PEI has asked us to assist them in their search for a Quality Control Technician.

Reports to Associate Director of Quality Control and Material Validations Job Objectives:
• To ensure that products are assembled and labeled according to Quality System requirements and customer specifications as part of release protocols.
• To inspect incoming materials to ensure compliance with written acceptance specifications.
• To work as part of a team to ensure production and shipping schedules are met.
• To work with and maintain manual and automated equipment for inspections in a regulated manufacturing environment.
• To work in a manufacturing environment while following safety protocols and Quality Assurance procedures.

Job Responsibilities (will include but will not be limited to):
• Interacting with other departments to schedule and perform detailed quality control inspections on inserts, labels, kit components and final packaging for finished products.
• Performing routine quality control techniques/inspections on components and finished products following written procedures.
• Determining sampling size for inspections following ANSI standards to determine AQL.
• Ensuring precise and accurate completion of all documentation relating to entering results, following good documentation practices.
• Operating automated systems to facilitate inspections.
• Training new personnel.
• Creating and maintaining quality control procedures and work instructions as required.
• Completing Quality Assurance documentation for quality control of product, including documentation associated with material approval or rejections and maintenance and calibration of instruments.
• Completing deviations and CAPAs as required.
• Performing other duties in Quality Control department as required.

Skills/Prerequisites:
• High school diploma preferably with 1-2 years of work experience.
• Good oral and written English and math skills.
• Familiarity with ISO regulations is considered an asset.
• Good manual dexterity, ability to work independently and good organizational skills.
• Strong computer skills.
• Heavy lifting, as required.
• Ability and willingness to work overtime including extended day shifts, evening shifts and weekends, as required to meet shipping and manufacturing schedules.
