Head Chef / Kitchen Manager – Noorish Conscious Eatery – Edmonton, Alberta

Noorish Conscious Eatery is an organic vegetarian/vegan eatery located in Edmonton, Alberta. Noorish is also a community space that offers yoga, food workshops, a superfood boutique and an organic permaculture farm. We believe in plant-based foods that inspire great conversation about living healthy, eating local, and contributing to a better future for our environment and those that inhabit it.

Noorish is seeking a full-time Head Chef / Kitchen Manager to manage the Line and Prep Kitchens.

Main Duties

Ordering, scheduling, hiring/firing
Performing regular costing and inventory
Updating plating guides and presentation
Meeting regularly with the restaurant leadership team and staff
Conducting seasonal menu changes
Supervising consistency and speed of recipes being prepared
Managing opening and closing duties for kitchen
Managing catering menus and special events execution
Developing inspiring specials on menu

Requirements

Minimum 3 years of kitchen experience is required; more than 5 years is an asset.
HR skills and the ability to lead a team of 12 effectively
Personal interest in vegan/vegetarian cooking, community atmosphere, holistic health, conscious living and superfoods are all assets.
Openness to personal development, conscious communication and self responsibility.
