The Mississaugua Golf and Country Club is one of Canada?s top private all-season golf clubs, with a diverse membership of 1,500 members and an outstanding Tier One golf course famous for its excellence. The Club has played host to numerous premier events, including six Canadian Opens.

Founded in 1906, MG&CC is a year round private club that offers golf, curling and tennis, dining and social amenities. Our Tudor Clubhouse is a spectacular venue for casual and fine dining, banquets, weddings and various social events and functions.

Position Summary
The Mississaugua Golf and Country Club is seeking dedicated and hardworking Course and Grounds Team Members (Full time and Part time) to join our dynamic and fun team. The This position is responsible for ensuring the golf course, grounds, greens, and gardens are maintained to highest quality during the busy golf season.

Key Responsibilities
Assist in the construction and maintenance of the greens, tees and fairways, including; cutting grass, raking, fertilizing / watering lawns, weeding gardens, pruning shrubs, and trees
Rake and maintain sands, bunkers and cart paths
Set tee markers and cups on greens daily, maintain ball washers, replace tee towels and flags
Operate and maintain power mowers, tractors, electric clippers, string trimmers, blowers, fly mows, and other landscape equipment
Maintain fuel levels for all equipment used on a daily basis; reports equipment problems or failure to the equipment manager immediately
Watering under the direct supervise of the Assistant Superintendent and Property Manager
Helps in project work; assists in soil preparation and laying sod
Performs other duties as directed by the 2nd Assistant and Assistant Golf Course and Property Manager
Follow all Health & Safety policies and procedures ? including wearing a hard hat at all times and not listening to MP3 / audio devices / earplugs
Able to handle equipment such as: trimmer, edger, blower, aerator, as well as utility and golf carts

Requirements
1 – 3 years experience in golf course maintenance / landscaping
Comfortable working under extremely warm conditions during the summer months (consecutive days of 30? or above) and extremely cold conditions during the winter months (consecutive days of below 0? and below)
Strong work ethic ? hard working, always available, good attitude, teamwork and cooperation skills
Effective communication skills ? listening, understanding, and responding
Constant focus and attention to detail
Ability to perform high quality work
Commitment to working in a safe manner
Very physically demanding job:
Must have sufficient physical strength and ability to independently and repeatedly lift and carry up to 50lbs, move and push objects weighing up to 75 pounds and to lift, and move and carry objects weighing more than 75 pounds with assistance
Standing and walking distances for extended periods of time
Regular lifting, pulling, and pushing
Repetitive motions, ie. bending, squatting, crouching and twisting on a regular basis
Manual dexterity and hand / eye coordination required

Valid driver?s license
