Executive Director – Wek’èezhìi Land and Water Board – Yellowknife, Northwest Territories

Working within an integrated resource management system across the Mackenzie Valley, the Wek’èezhìi Land and Water Board is a highly-respected organization with a collaborative and dynamic work environment. We are focused on fulfilling our mandate to provide for the conservation, development and utilization of land and water resources for the optimum benefit of residents of Wek’èezhìi, and for all Canadians.

Reporting to the Board of Directors, the Executive Director is responsible for managing the activities of the WLWB; leading a team of dedicated professionals that provides advice and recommendations on land and water use applications; supporting the land and water use review process; communicating with proponents, residents, stakeholders and the public; and contributing to collaborative initiatives for continuous regulatory improvement in the Mackenzie Valley.

You have:

exceptional communications, presentation, and interpersonal skills;
the capacity to build lasting relationships;
the ability to respond to complex questions and inquiries;
strong leadership skills; and
a relevant post-secondary/graduate degree and related experience – equivalencies will be considered.

The Board encourages applicants with strong regional awareness and connections, particularly residents, to apply.

Regulatory experience would be an asset.

Knowledge of Tlicho culture and way of life would be an asset.

Salary Range: $105,000 – $124,000 plus additional allowances.
