Reporting directly to the CAO, the General Manager, Community Services (“GM”) provides strategic leadership and oversight of the community services portfolio in alignment with the City’s vision, mission, and values, as well as with Richmond City Council’s Term Goals. As part of the Senior Management Team, the GM participates in long-term strategic planning and annual budget review, works collaboratively to ensure the effective development and implementation of corporate initiatives, advises City Council, and attends all Council and relevant Committee meetings.

The GM leads project teams across the City, and will oversee departments such as Parks; Recreation and Sport Services; Arts, Culture and Heritage; and Community Social Development. In addition to ensuring a strategic approach to management of programs, services, and operations, the GM will set the strategic direction for Community Services to ensure long-term and annual division goals, department plans, budgets, and deliverables drive change and align with the Council’s strategic priorities.
