Manager of Corporate Administration & Corporate Officer – Regional District of Central Kootenay

As a senior manager reporting to the Chief Administrative Officer (CAO), this position leads the Corporate Administration Department. As such, this position is responsible for all aspect of its operation, including the development and implementation of strategies and policies, related project management, and organizational and staff development. They undertake and manage various corporate projects and initiatives, including research to further the Regional District’s strategic objectives, bylaws, policies and statutory requirements. They work collaboratively with, and provide advice and guidance to, Senior Managers and staff on Corporate Administration services. As Corporate Officer, they are responsible for ensuring the statutory duties of Corporate Administration are carried out in accordance with section 236 of the Local Government Act, and providing oversight and guidance to the Board of Directors and staff to ensure compliance with legislation.

REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
A degree in public or business administration, or a related field, with 5 years of directly related, progressive management and leadership experience. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
Demonstrated experience developing and implementing strategy.
Experience successfully managing projects.
Previous government experience and certification in Local Government Administration are definite assets.
