Material Manager – TRS Staffing Solutions – Edmonton, AB

We are currently seeking a high caliber Deputy Field Material Manager for an Edmonton based position.

Deputy Field Material Manager

Maintains and promotes safety policies and procedures
Establishes management reporting procedures for on site Procurement.
Maintains familiarity and knowledge of pertinent provisions of the prime contracts and ensure compliance with contractual requirements.
Coordinates with the PMM Material Manager to identify personnel for Field Procurement staff.
Utilizes project approved bid list.  NWR approval will be obtained whenever a proposed bidder is not included on the project approved list.
Performs any required pre-bid Procurement Plan for purchase orders as required.
Processes, reviews, records, and issues Requests for Quotation/Quotation Summaries, Purchase Orders and Change Orders in the material management system.
Negotiates any commercial agreements with suppliers as required.
Negotiates with suppliers to accomplish on-time shipment of materials and equipment to meet project schedule requirements, as required.
Processes bid tabulations, working with requisitioner, and be responsible for timely supplier communications.
Reviews and approves bid tabulations, as necessary.
Represents Material Management in meetings as required.
Maintains and monitors the MaterialManager system.
If necessary, coordinates Vendor inspection activities with the SQS group and suppliers.  Communicates inspection requirements working with the SQS group, NWR and the Commodity Engineer.
Assists Technical Document Control in obtaining Vendor Data, as needed.
Coordinates transportation requirements with the Logistics group.
Coordinates and issues supplier evaluations as required.
Reviews Supplier invoices and approve, when required.
Coordinates and supports the handling of Supplier Backcharges as required.
Ensures OS&D’s handled in timely manner with vendor.
Closeout of all site issued Purchase Orders.
Responsible for field expediting and field purchasing orders.
Coordinate the identification and disposal of surplus material.
Directs the Warehouse Supervisor, responsible for planning, controlling and managing the warehouse group to ensure that the correct quality and quantity of materials and equipment are properly received, stored, preserved and issued.
