Atlantic University Sport (AUS) is a dynamic not-for-profit organization responsible for governing interuniversity sport in Atlantic Canada. The conference is comprised of 11 member institutions and over 2,000 student-athletes who compete annually for 18 conference championships in 10 different sports.

Each year, the AUS office plays host to such exciting events as the Subway AUS Basketball Championships and the Michelob AUS Golf Classic. The small but growing office is looking for an enthusiastic, self-motivated and organized individual to join the AUS team.

Opportunity

Atlantic University Sport is seeking a part-time office coordinator to offer administrative support to its growing team.

Reporting to the executive director, responsibilities will include:

Serving as the first point of contact (answering and directing incoming calls and greeting, directing, and assisting visitors)
Serving as a liaison between the AUS office and 11 member institutions
Coordinating incoming and outgoing mail, packages, and deliveries
Assisting with clerical duties: sending/receiving invoices, financial filing, deposits, etc.
Stocking and distributing office supplies
Scheduling and organizing meetings and appointments (booking meeting rooms, hotel rooms for staff, etc.)
Assisting at AUS-hosted events (i.e. the Subway AUS Basketball Championships)
Provide assistance to the executive director and AUS staff
Maintain office space to provide an inviting atmosphere
Other miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned

Qualifications

The successful candidate has superior organizational skills, is self-motivated, resourceful, detail-oriented, and energetic. Must be a team player and have outstanding writing, editing, data entry, and proofreading skills. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and the ability to prioritize and handle multiple projects are essential. Must be proficient in Microsoft Office. Two years of experience in an administrative coordination capacity is required. A related degree or diploma is preferred.

Compensation

$15 per hour; 24 hours per week (Additional hours may be required during the busy season.)

This is a contract position.
