Quality Managment System and Healthy & Safety Specialist – Lamons – Sarnia, ON

Responsible for establishing the Quality Management System and H&S Programs and supervising its operation. Provides accurate technical and regulatory information to Lamons’ customers, Sales staff and Engineering staff, develop designs and modifications to design for specific customer needs. Assists with the training of Lamons’ employees and customers on procedures and regulations.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

Establish and improve the Quality Management System, supervise the operation, carry out the Quality Policy and Quality Objectives.
Be responsible for inspector training and ensure their ability could meet the relative requirement of the company.
Control the anomalousness quality, analyze the quality, and improve the staffs quality consciousness.
Collect and analyze Quality data. Take charge of daily quality report forms.
Promote the Quality Management System and H&S Certification at all levels, and at all Canadian locations.
Take charge of Quality and H&S Departments daily management.
Cooperate with other departments’ management.
Serves in the capacity as Auditor of Facilities
Trains Lamons Sales staff in technical and regulatory matters.
Coordinates and gathering information concerning incidents involving Lamons’ products.
Trains employees in Job Performance, Quality Instructions, Safety and Environmental Compliance.
Responsible for creating, implementing, developing and maintenance of programs
to insure Company compliance with all applicable federal, provincial and local
agencies that regulate Environmental, Health, and Safety laws
Is Company’s technical expert on all current applicable federal, provincial and local laws regulating Environmental, Safety and Health; may perform investigations;
Works with Plant Managers, Branch Managers and other personnel to respond to customer inquiries for safety and regulatory compliance;
Creates a culture of safety through communication and training programs that can be implemented at all Canadian locations
Responsible for safety orientation and training compliance accident investigation and communication.
Is company spokesperson to customers and maintains accurate customer safety contract requirements and coordinates reporting for sales department.
Stays current on latest process developments to keep Company informed of ways to reduce impact on environment
Manages the Waste Water and Pollution Prevention Plans
Performs regular periodic audits of all facilities
Develops report to bring to management’s attention problem areas that need correction; ensures all facilities maintain current and accurate data as required by regulations
Trains employees in compliance to Company’s Environmental, Safety and Health policies

Skills

Be familiar with company technology, quality and production.
Have strong sense of quality and consistently adhere to the principles for meeting the customers’ requirements.
Strong management skills and team leadership .Conflict resolution and problem solving skills.
Microsoft windows and MS office (latest updated version)

Education

Possess bachelor degree or above, mechanical engineering or relevant
Has completed a Lead Auditor Training Course.

Work Experience

2-10 years experience in technical and quality functions.

Physical Requirements

Incumbent must be able to lift, bend, stoop and climb; capable of lifting up to 30 lbs. on a regular basis; cannot be color blind; visual acuity corrected to 20/20
