Regional Maintenance Manager – Newfoundland & Labrador Housing Corporation – St. John’s

Applications are invited for the permanent position of Regional Maintenance Manager in the Avalon Regional Office.

This position is responsible for maintenance, modernization and other property management operations in both the Avalon and Marystown Regional Offices.

Duties:  Reporting to the Regional Director, the incumbent plans, organizes and directs the work of trades staff engaged in residential property maintenance and modernization projects for over 3500 NL Housing units, as well as administrative staff in the division; monitors ongoing and completed work for compliance with project specifications and schedules; oversees the preparation of public tendering and other purchasing documents; monitors work for compliance with health and safety guidelines and documents/reports accidents; assists in the preparation of project plans and budgets and monitors related expenditures; monitors work associated with contact centre to ensure superior customer service levels are achieved; responds to inquires from the public, tenants, government representatives and other agencies; and performs other related work as required. Periodic travel to the Marystown Regional Office will be required.

Qualifications: Considerable experience in managing residential property maintenance/renovation projects, supervising workers in both construction and office environments, preparing budgets and monitoring expenditures; well developed oral, written and interpersonal communication skills; The qualifications for this position would normally be acquired through post-secondary training in project management, business management, construction, or other related field, combined with recent, relevant experience. The successful applicant must possess a valid driver’s license, a vehicle available for business use, and provide a recent Certificate of Conduct.

Salary: On the Management Pay Plan in the range $63,165 to $82,115 per annum based on a thirty-five (35) hour work week.  NL Housing offers a comprehensive benefits plan including group insurance, paid leave, and pension.
