Sales Manager – Rofin Sinar Inc – Mississauga, ON

Summary

Rofin-Sinar seeks to hire a Canada Regional Sales Manager. This position is an excellent opportunity to join a global industrial laser company that manufactures industrial laser power sources and systems. This region is heavily automotive. The successful candidate will be very entrepreneurial and excited by the opportunity to work with a leader in industrial lasers. The Canada Regional Sales Manager must have a proven track record selling capital equipment to automotive companies.

Functions and Responsibilities:

Direct Selling Activities

Jointly develop a regional business plan, target territory and account plans, and annual/quarterly forecasts tied to company booking objectives.
Identify, contact, promote, qualify, and close new sales for laser power sources and system used in cutting, welding, and surface treatment applications.
Maintain strong business relationships with all new/existing clients to optimize customer satisfaction and repeat sales opportunities. Utilized on-line CRM to maintain up-to-date customer profiles, sales opportunities and forecasts.
Develop value proposition selling strategies for the laser applications in this region.
Makes product, application and general sales presentations to end user customers and system integrators.

Relationship building

Establishes long term relationships with manufacturing engineers, product engineers, engineering management, purchasing personnel and top company managers at customer plant sites and corporate offices.
Identifies current and future customer service requirements by establishing personal rapport with potential and actual customers to understand the customers’ requirements.
Key point of contact for questions relating to product, service, and equipment and engineering information.
Develops relationships and works with various system integrators within the specific region.

Internal Communication – Team Member

Understands and defines quotation requirements for lasers and laser systems.
Works with customers and Rofin-Sinar applications labs to develop and validate new laser applications.
Works with all internal Rofin-Sinar departments to provide customer feedback and competitive information.

Required Qualifications

4-year technical or business degree OR at least four years of equivalent technical or sales experience.
A minimum of 5 years selling manufacturing equipment (i.e. machine tools, robotics, lasers, high end welding equipment).
Familiarity with laser welding and cutting in manufacturing required.
Willingness to travel up to 60% of the time. Work from Mississauga, Ontario office or home office located between Windsor and Toronto.

Desired Qualifications

Extremely comfortable dealing at senior management levels.
Experience in negotiating contracts & closing sales with a value of $500K+
Experience with Microsoft Office products and customer database software.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Engineering degree
Previous experience with industrial laser processes
A team player with excellent people skills. Self-motivated, tenacious and competitive.
Effective time management skills and ability to work independently
Ability to grasp technical/engineering information and concepts easily.
