Enterprise is Hamlet of 110 residents and is located in the Northwest Territories approximately 80 kilometres north of Alberta on the Mackenzie Highway, and 38 kilometres from Hay River.

The Hamlet of Enterprise has an employment opportunity for a Senior Administrative Officer who is responsible for the overall administration of municipal operations in accordance with the Hamlets Act, Local Authorities Elections Act, by-laws, objectives, policies, and plans approved by the Council.

Under the Direction of Mayor and Council, the Senior Administrative Officer is responsible for the following duties;
Supervise and direct the affairs of the Hamlet and its employees.
Provide leadership and advice to Council on all legislation or Acts under which the Municipal Corporation operates.
Prepare budgets in accordance with the Hamlets Act.
Accurate and timely preparation of the financial statements, other financial and administrative requirements pertaining to the Hamlets Act, Public Service and other Federal and Territorial Acts.
Enforce or cause to be enforced all By-Laws and resolutions of the Hamlet.
Ensure that all contracts are prepared and executed as required by Council.
Perform statutory duties as outlined in Section 47 of the Hamlet’s Act and other relevant legislation.
Other duties and responsibilities as directed by Council.

Required Qualifications;

A recognized diploma or degree in Municipal Administration or equivalent.
The ideal candidate will have several years of related senior municipal government experience.
Solid background in financial management.
Strong working knowledge of Simply Accounting and Microsoft Office.
A positive record of working effectively with elected officials, committees and public participation processes and policy and service delivery.
Must be bondable and submit a criminal records check as a prerequisite.
A solid understanding of infrastructure, planning and development.
Excellent communication skills.
Familiar with applicable legislation.
Must have possession of a Class 5 Driver’s Licence.
