Volunteer Activist Project Leader / Team Member – The Outreach Team – Toronto, Ontario

We are now taking applications for our 1st quarter 2016 “New Change-Makers” Program!

The Program:
New Change-makers is a volunteer program run by “the Outreach Team”- a social enterprise based out of the Centre for Social Innovation in Toronto.

Successful applicants will:
– Lead or take part in a 10-week program to create a tangible, positive change in the world around them.

Example programs include (Budget provided by the Outreach Team):
– running a workshop or speaker series on an important social or environmental issue
– Running or taking part in an outreach program (canvassing, setting up tables at events/farmers markets) on an important social or environmental issue
– Recruiting volunteers to work towards a positive change in the world.

The Reward:
In addition to the satisfaction of a job well done, volunteers who complete the 10-week program will receive:
– a solid reference (via letter, phone call, etc.) that can be used on resumes and job applications.
– A one-on-one career-guidance session for those looking to work in NGOs, or gain funding for an activist-based project
– A firm, one-pump, handshake with eye contact in order to convey appreciation for your hard work.

Please note that the “New Changemakers” program believes the best way to positively influence the world around you is by friendly and polite engagement, and we will not consider projects that involve aggressive, confrontational or illegal activity (unless it’s really funny, then maybe).
