SUMMARY

The Community Mental Health Clinician provides a broad range of community based mental health services to clients and their families/ caregivers through the provision of direct clinical services, consultation services and professional and public education.  The clinician will act as the primary clinician and/ or case manager for all newly referred clients with longer duration mental health service needs.  The Community Mental Health Clinician will strive to make mental health a public priority, promoting mental well-being and reducing the stigma and discrimination associated with mental illness.  She/ he will also strive to improve access and enhance the services available and provided to clients while recognizing the need for family participation.  The focus of all services will be based on a resilience and recovery model of care.

The incumbent must fulfill the requirements of the Criminal Records/ Vulnerable Person, Child Abuse Registry Check and Adult Abuse Registry Check, and adhere to all Northern Health Region (NHR) policies and procedures.

QUALIFICATIONS

B.S.W. and two (2) years directly related experience; or R.P.N. with active R.P.N.A.M. registration and two (2) years directly related experience; or other qualifications and directly related experience deemed equivalent
Current active registration with the College of Social Workers of Manitoba
Eligible to practice and maintain membership/ licensure

Must have a valid Manitoba Class V driver’s license, access to a vehicle, and willingness to use it to travel in the Region throughout the year
