Financial and People Support – Kawartha Conservation

Position Summary
The Financial and People Support position will play an important role by providing essential support services for the organization. Working closely with the General Accountant they will be assisting with processing accounts receivable and payable, basic financial recordkeeping and reconciliations, banking, and related administration of financial records. Tasks related to supporting our people include processes such as talent acquisition, updating records and forms, data input to HRMS and general assistance.

Key functions to Financial Support:
Full cycle Accounts Receivable and Payable using Sage software and following established policies and procedures.
Precise record keeping and analysis of general ledger accounts, special projects and external MOU’s and contracts and prepare internal project reports monthly.
Liaise with project staff and support them in financial information needs related to their program areas.
Key functions to People Support:
Provide recruitment support, including assisting with job descriptions, preparing, and posting job competition notices, accepting resumes, assisting with scheduling of interviews.
Assist Directors with the coordination of orientation, training and organizing on-boarding and off-boarding requirements.
Coordinate data and prepare reports for employment grants.
Assist with timely and accurate input of data into Human Resources Management System as required.

Skills and Knowledge for Success:
Post-secondary education in Accounting, Business Administration, or a related discipline or equivalent experience. Minimum three (3) years’ experience in a similar position.
Related courses in software applications, bookkeeping, HR administration.
Experienced in accounts receivable and accounts payable.
Excellent organizational, critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
Good working knowledge of software applications especially MS Word and Excel.
General understanding of computerized accounting systems; familiarity with Sage an asset.
Proven ability to maintain confidences and ensure confidentiality of information and records.
Location: a blend of remote work and working in the Administration Centre, Lindsay, Ontario.
