The Opportunity

As Manager, Professional Services Group, using sound managerial, analytical and organizational skills, the primary goal is to lead the Professional Services Group (PSG) in the delivery of superior project management, implementation, training and consulting services.  The goal of the position is to develop and maintain a culture of collaboration, creativity and a passion for excellence in client service, while achieving Tempest’s Triple Bottom Line objectives.  In addition, this position is a member of the Tempest management team and is involved in the annual preparation of budgets, strategic planning activities, monthly status reporting, and quarterly business review presentations.  This position will also attend Tempest’s annual conference and client briefing, and will be a liaison between Tempest and its client community.

In addition to the responsibilities outlined in the Opportunity above, you possess the following qualifications and abilities:

Ability to work collaboratively within a high performance management team
10+ years of related experience of leadership and management combined with project management
Degree, Diploma or equivalent experience in Computer Science, Project Management or related fields; formal Project Management certification (PMP) is desirable
Hands on experience delivering project management services in the IT sector and ideally experience in leading and developing a professional services practice.
Experience with management and scheduling of multiple projects, resources, and deliverables including the change management process.
Demonstrated management of the daily project progression, reporting, implementation activities, documentation, and customer satisfaction
Ability to manage the client relationship both as a hands-on sponsor and resolution agent
Working knowledge of a variety of methods and techniques used to elicit, capture, and communicate requirements to ensure clear expectations; experience with workflow and information modeling
Proactive ability to communicate and collaborate with both external and internal customers to analyze information needs and functional requirements
Experience championing an effective change management process, along with the demonstrated ability to engage in multiple initiatives simultaneously.
Serve as the conduit between clients and the Tempest teams

The following assets are desirable:

Working knowledge of Municipal Government Revenue Services job functions and responsibilities (e.g. Tax/Utility Billing, Land Re-Zoning, Business Licensing, etc.)
Experience with software applications for accounting or revenue systems
