Municipal Accountant – Corporation of Delta

This position requires professional accounting work within the Budgets and Collection Division of the Finance Department. The incumbent works with a team that coordinates the collection of accounts receivable, property tax, utility and municipal tickets. This position assists in the control and preparation of budgets and a variety of financial statements, reports, records, returns and statistics. The incumbent must be able to work effectively and efficiently with external and internal customers and exercise considerable judgment in daily activities.

Desirable Training and Experience

Completion of the 12th school grade and courses completed for certification from a recognized accounting society, plus several years of experience in municipal accounting or auditing, or an equivalent combination of training and experience. Preference will be given to those with CPA (CA/CGA/CMA) accounting designation. Strong written and verbal communication skills are essential.

Required Licenses, Certificates and Registrations

Certificate of membership in a recognized accounting society or association.

The Corporation of Delta provides a competitive salary of $38.52 – $45.51 per hours (2015 rates, commensurate with experience); and an excellent benefits package including Municipal Pension Plan as well as an earned-days-off system.
