Marketing Coordinator (Temporary) – Food Stash Foundation

Job Description:
This position is responsible for supporting the Program Manager in executing the communications strategy and marketing plans for Food Stash. In this role, the Marketing Coordinator will develop content, assist with social media, help to write key publications such as newsletters and monthly impact reports, and gather stories and photos of clients that document the work of Food Stash and its network. The focus of this position is to create quality content that engages various stakeholders and strengthens our online presence and community. The successful candidate will be exceptionally organized, have strong interpersonal skills, excellent writing and communicating skills, and be able to take initiative while being part of a cohesive and passionate team!

Tasks and Responsibilities:
Collaborate with the Program Manager to support the Food Stash PR and Communications Strategy including but not limited to:
Assist in developing Stash Story blog series. This could include: creating content on topics such as our day-to-day operations, hidden gems, partners, clients, news and Page 1 of 2 announcements, interviewing and/or researching chosen topics or individuals, writing articles, and publishing on our website and social channels;
Assist with creating shareable materials such as the monthly newsletter, promotional materials, or social media content
Develop media bank of various photos that highlight the work we do;
Assist with monthly impact reports in collaboration with the Food Stash team;
Assist with special projects as needed

Education & Experience Requirements
Highschool diploma or equivalent experience
Previous design or marketing experience, an asset
Experience working with vulnerable populations, an asset
Non-profit and/or charity sector experience, an asset
Offer of employment will be conditional upon satisfactory criminal record check Knowledge,

The ability to work independently and as a member of a team
Excellent communicator, both written and verbal
Ability to take initiative and problem solve
