Requirements
Comfort working within a virtual team environment, e.g. using Zoom, Google Workspace, etc
Your own work space, computer, and internet connection
Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Example Responsibilities
Research regional trends
Monitor daily media
Curate and create content for social media channels
Generate directions, themes, and messaging for future content
Manage social media content and engagement
Create graphics for online use
Support development of a new campaign
Design a landing page for a new campaign
Draft an online story for a defined audience
Compile relevant info on a current event

Proficiencies / Qualifications
You very likely will not have experience with or want to do all of these, and that’s okay: let us know where you excel and what you would be excited to expend your time with us.
Computer / technological proficiency, e.g. Google Suite and office software – word processing, spreadsheets, email, shared file management, task management apps (e.g. Asana, ClickUp)
Content creation for social media, e.g. graphic design or photo editing with Canva, Adobe CS, etc
Content curation and social media management, e.g. content scheduling and comment moderation with Buffer or Hootsuite
Social media content targeting, e.g. custom audiences, growth hacking, etc
Social media analytics / reporting
Writing and / or editing for online audiences, e.g. blog posts
Storytelling and narrative development – figuring out how to communicate something
Campaign development – figuring out how to deliver a consistent and effective set of activities
Web design, e.g. use a page builder and CSS to build simple websites.
Research, e.g. compile sources and synthesize info on a topic
Ability to communicate in different voices to different audiences across different channels
A strong sense of initiative and ability to spot emerging communications opportunities
The ability to listen to ideas and different voices and reflect those perspectives in your storytelling

Additional information
Work hours are flexible as long as you have some availability Mon-Fri 9-5 Pacific Time. The initial expectation (pending funding) is 35 hours per week for 16 weeks (May-August).
