Communications Officer – Wek’èezhìi Renewable Resources Board and Wek’èezhìi Land & Water Board – Yellowknife

The Communications Officer
will provide support to the Boards to develop and maintain effective communications and relationships with Tlicho communities and organizations. The Communications Officer will provide support and information on renewable resource management and land and water regulation issues to Tlicho communities. Flexible working hours, including evenings, holidays and weekends, are required. This position requires frequent travel, including by small aircraft, to all communities within the Wek’èezhìi Region.

The Communications Officer will have a relevant degree combined with:
excellent written and verbal communications skills;
experience making presentations and facilitating meetings to a wide range of audiences;
experience developing and implementing communications strategies, programs and materials using a wide range of media including social media; and
demonstrated cultural awareness and sensitivity.
Experience working with northern communities; renewable resources training; and the ability to speak the Tlicho language are considered assets for the position.
