Program Assistant, Volunteering – Crossroads International – Toronto preferred

Crossroads International is currently seeking a bilingual Program Assistant, Volunteering to join our team devoted to excellence in international volunteering.

Reporting to the Team Leader and working closely with other members of the program team, the Program Assistant will be a highly organized administrator committed to the achievement of excellence in Crossroads’ International volunteering program. Responsibilities consist of coordination of volunteer logistics, including overseas travel and placement, and other administrative, communications and finance-related functions. The Program Assistant is responsible for the management of the Volunteer Tracking System, participates in the development and implementation of other volunteer management systems, undertakes basic research as required and contributes to the preparation of reports and supports public engagement and volunteering events. The Program Assistant, Volunteering works in a collaborative fashion and as a member of a variety of cross-functional teams across the organization.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Relevant post-secondary college or university diploma with minimum of two years of administrative experience or equivalent work experience
High level of proficiency with technology and software (MS Office Suite), Sharepoint and Raiser’s Edge are assets
Superior administration skills including coordination of domestic and international travel, accounts payable, etc.
Ability to work independently and efficiently with minimal supervision
Excellent organizational skills and superior attention to detail and accuracy
Strong customer service skills and excellent cross-cultural and interpersonal skills
Ability to work effectively as part of a team
Strong written and oral communication skills in English, Fluency in French, knowledge of Spanish an asset
Previous experience in the non-profit sector and knowledge of international development and/or volunteering will be considered assets

Position Type: Full Time, one year contract with possibility of renewal

Location(s): Toronto preferred (Montreal could be considered)
