The Centre for Climate Change Management (CCCM) at Mohawk College is an applied research centre. Our mission is to catalyze regional action on climate change and support the development of applied climate change mitigation strategies and initiatives.
Reporting to the General Manager, the Research Assistant will be responsible for the development of an Excel-based model that models greenhouse gas emissions of a small-scale manufacturing process under different scenarios. The candidate will have the opportunity to support all areas of the project, with the guidance of Centre staff; this includes data collection, communication, and reporting to the industry partner.
The incumbent will have strong Excel skills, and an ability to work independently and as part of a small team. The ability to support report writing is an asset.
The duties of this position will include, but are not necessarily limited to the following:
Developing an Excel-based model for greenhouse gas emissions estimations of a manufacturing process
Assisting in report writing and data tracking, as needed
Ensuring efficient and proper handling of research data
Supporting updates to industry partner
The successful applicant must have:
Post-secondary education in chemical engineering, engineering, environmental science, or a related field
Advanced competency in Microsoft Excel
Strong Microsoft Office skills
Strong communication skills
Ability to work independently in a virtual working environment
Data analysis is an asset
An understanding and commitment to the principles of equity, diversity and inclusivity
