Analyst IT Support – University of the Fraser Valley

Duties & Responsibilities
Under the general direction of the IT Deployment Coordinator, the Analyst, IT Support deploys software, supports and troubleshoots UFV standard computer hardware and peripherals used by faculty, staff and students. Software deployment will include some application packaging, task sequencing, and advertising to desktop collections. Technical troubleshooting will include serving as the contact for incidents or problems that need immediate response during normal working hours. Support of network print environment will include initial configuration of dedicated printers and Multi-Function Devices on the network. Service management processes will include entering, tracking and reporting on work orders in a service ticketing system. Other tasks include creating and maintaining technical documentation and asset management. Additional duties include backup coverage for the IT Service Desk. This role will include acting as a primary contact for users with IT issues or enquiries, and provide first level technical support. The Support Analyst will be required to lift computer equipment, supplies and materials while spending brief periods of time working under desks and in tight spaces.

Qualifications
A recognized Post-Secondary Diploma in computer technology or related field is required. Minimum of three (3) years’ experience providing technical support in an enterprise environment. This includes the deployment, maintenance and upgrading of computer operating systems, application software, hardware and peripherals. Experience operating an IT service desk in an enterprise environment. Experience deploying software using Microsoft technologies as well as providing user support in a Microsoft environment. Excellent oral and written communication skills; superior customer service and conflict resolution skills; exceptional problem solving, troubleshooting and organizational skills. Ability to work within a team in a fast pace, high-pressure technical environment.
