The Information Technology Manager reports to the Director of Finance with a dotted line to the General
Manager of Corporate Services. The Information Technology Manager is responsible for the effective
operation of information technology (IT) services and support across the organization. This individual
oversees IT project management, resource management, supervision of IT staff, as well as communication
with the executive team, business unit leaders, and end users. The IT Manager is also responsible for IT
strategic and tactical planning, as well as identifying, selecting, and deploying the appropriate technology
resources that will support corporate goals and objectives.

The preferred candidate will possess a Post-Secondary Degree or Diploma in computer science or
equivalent combination of education and experience. S/he will have a minimum of 7 years’ experience in the
IT industry preferably in a municipal environment coupled with a minimum 5 years’ experience in a managerial
capacity. The candidate must also be proficient in overall knowledge of networking, operating system and
server architecture, including thin clients, clustering and Cloud technologies. In addition, advanced knowledge
of web design/application principles and tools, programming concepts, software development cycles,
and experience with databases, ERP systems and VPN networks. Lastly, the candidate must have knowledge of
applicable IT laws and regulations and hold a valid Class 5 BC Driver’s License.
