Lead, HR Systems / Analytics – School District No 43 – Coquitlam, BC

Coquitlam School District invites applications for the position of Lead, HR Systems and Analytics.  As the third largest school district in the province we are located within a 40 minute drive from downtown Vancouver.  The school district has a population of 33,000 students with approximately 3,500 teaching, administrative, managerial and support staff.

This positon reports to the Director of Human Resources and is responsible for overseeing 5 key areas: Workforce Analytics (ensuring validity of data in HRIS system, implementation of new systems to enhance reporting and efficiencies, producing data to support management decisions and best practice, forecasting), Position Control (developing and enhancing procedures, supporting budget/staffing issues, performing position control reconciliation and assignment code reviews), Staffing (supporting senior HR, Educational and Finance administrators, providing workforce forecasting), Employee Benefits and Compensation (implementing benefits strategy, providing direction and support to HR staff supporting the benefits portfolio, liaising with Financial Services, leading the strategies and administration of exempt compensation), Ministry and Other Reporting (preparing data, reviewing accuracy, submitting reports). Other duties will be assigned as needed to meet the needs of the district. This position will supervise HR staff.

Required Education and Experience

Undergraduate degree in an appropriate discipline (eg. Statistics, Planning, Education, Business Administration, Human Resources Management).
Minimum of 5 years’ experience with statistical, demographic analysis including generating projections as well as working knowledge of budget and financial planning.
Extensive experience with metrics, and information systems, expertise with report writers; a working knowledge of database programming and SRB would be considered an asset.
Experience and exposure to human resources management including staffing budgets, compensation, benefits, attendance support and position control considered an asset.
Experience interacting with staff at all job levels of a unionized organization, preferably in public sector.
A valid class 5 BC Driver’s license and  business use of personal vehicle
