Building Inspector – Village of Pemberton – Pemberton, BC

The Village of Pemberton has an immediate opening for a contract Building Inspector to join our team.

The Position:

The Building Inspector will be responsible for detailed building and property inspections on behalf of the Village including but not limited to technical inspection and regulatory work involving plan checking, the issuance of plumbing, building and sign permits, field inspection, correspondence, report writing, bylaw enforcement and assistance with administering the Business License Bylaw.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills are required in providing technical advice, assistance and information to the general public, contractors, owners, architects and engineers on matters related to the Building Department.

Qualifications:

BC Building Inspectors Certificate Level I or Level 2
Grade 12 supplemented by a post-secondary diploma or certificate in Building Technology or related discipline and three to four years’ experience in building trade or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
Minimum of two years related experience in a municipal environment.
Valid BC Driver’s License and good driving record.
