Reporting directly to the Chief Administrative Officer, the position is responsible for:

Managing the provision of services including water, sewer, solid waste, roads, flood protection and drainage, wharves, trails, parks and playgrounds in accordance with regulations and engineering standards;
Reviewing existing policy, regulations, bylaw and other tools and assisting in the development of new policy and plans to address changing operational needs;
Liaise, coordinate, and oversee major infrastructure projects with the Village’s contracted municipal engineering firm;
Develop financial and operating plans to adequately maintain all municipal assets.

Qualifications:

Significant experience in a civil works environment; eight years of progressive experience; five years in a supervisory or management capacity; five years in water and wastewater systems; and
Hold a Degree or Diploma in Civil Engineering or Applied Science Technology with professional designation (PEng or AScT); or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Project Management experience / certification considered an asset;
EOCP level 2 certification for Water and Waste Water considered an asset;
Further education in Administration considered an asset;
Strong leadership and interpersonal relationship skills;
Strong oral and written communication skills.

As a key member of the management team, this position provides advice and recommendations on the efficient provision of municipal services to Council, the CAO, and other department heads. The position works independently, exercising initiative and sound judgment. Significant experience in managing and motivating others, building positive community relationships, and leadership – is a must.
