Water Resources Engineer – South Nation Conservation Authority – Ontario

POSITION DETAILS:
The incumbent will work in a multi-disciplinary team environment. Responsibilities include a variety of technical, analytical and data processing tasks in the general area of water resources engineering. The Water Resources Engineer will work as part of the Resource Management team. This position reports to the Managing Director, Natural Hazards and Infrastructure.

WHAT YOU OFFER:
A university degree in civil engineering, water resources engineering or related discipline.
5 years of water resources project experience including design, project management and business development.
Licensed or eligible for registration as a Profession Engineer with Professional Engineers Ontario.
Knowledge of legislation and procedures related to municipal and environmental planning is an asset.
Experience with hydraulic and hydrologic modelling software (including SWMHYMO, HEC-HMS, HEC-RAS and GIS).
Experience in the water resource management for small and large river systems, including stormwater management, analysis of drainage and erosion problems, analysis of watercourses, and delineation of floodplains.
Analytical, interpretive and research skills required to assess situations, to conduct studies and to provide reports and recommendations.
Experience in the preparation of technical reports, peer reviews and presentations.
Excellent organizational skills including report writing and meeting budget deadlines.
Excellent interpersonal and verbal communication skills.
Relate well in both team-oriented and independent situations.
Bilingualism (French and English) is an asset.
Valid Class “G” Ontario Driver’s License.

LOCATION:
The SNC office is in a rural location in Finch, Ontario, southeast of Ottawa. The successful candidate must have reliable transportation.
