With a new Council in place with a common focus in terms of moving forward, the City is in need of a new Chief Administrative Officer (CAO), who will provide highly effective advice and support to the Mayor and Council in developing and implementing policies and strategies that address the unique qualities and needs of the City of Penticton.

As the next CAO, you will oversee the delivery of programs and initiatives approved by Council and any relevant governing legislation. Reporting to the Mayor and as Mayor and Council’s sole employee, you act as the key linkage between the governance authority of council and the administrative responsibility of the labour force.

As CAO, you will ensure that staff of the City are committed to providing a high level of public service, and continually strive for new and more effective approaches to fulfilling the City’s mandate and strategic objectives. With your vision, energy and blend of professional exposures, you are uniquely suited to ensure the City is optimally and uniquely positioned for continuous renewal and economic prosperity while delivering services in a highly efficient and cost-effective manner.

As the ideal candidate, you bring a demonstrated and highly successful track record of leading both the strategic and operational aspects of a complex organization within a multi-stakeholder environment. With your entrepreneurial nature, you have the ability to conceptualize the nature and evolution of advancing an organization within the complexities of a public sector environment and are adept at working with groups such as technical senior staff, Council, the public, industry, related associations, media and staff in advancing the collective interests of a community.
