District Manager – Obsidian Group Inc – Greater Toronto Area, ON

Experienced District Manager required for a very established franchise chain of casual dining restaurants.

PURPOSE

Provide management support within a territory of restaurants with single and multiple franchisees, give ongoing direction and act as a resource and liaison between franchisor and the franchisees.

Provide the appropriate level of support to each franchisee necessary to improve the business operations. Specific actions taken to assist the store to improve its sales & overall trend must be demonstrated.

Expected to take complete ownership of your territory and ensure that the Franchisor is always protected and that your franchisees are successful.

KEY RESULT AREAS

Manage restaurant openings, by developing short and long term goals and implementing strategies to achieve targets.
Ensure that all dealings with franchisees, suppliers and manufacturers are according to the franchise manuals and franchise agreement.
Ensure that high quality food and exceptional guest service is delivered in a clean and pleasant atmosphere in all units.
Report weekly on food handling and sanitation on all units.
Ensure proper staffing levels are upheld at all times.
Ensure that all franchisees purchase product from authorized suppliers only at all times.
Ensure all units have proper management structure at all times.
Ensure that all units comply at all times with all liquor laws and that all employees and franchisees are smart serve certified.
Supervise the system (specification, marketing and operations manual) and make recommendations for improvements from time to time.
Restaurant inspections at all franchise units including written notes for the file.
Produce weekly reports concerning the activity and quality standards of the franchisees.
Responds to, investigates and follows up on verbal and written enquiries and complaints.
Ensure all manuals are up to date at all times for all units.
Assist in monthly and spot check inventory.
Ensure that minimum merchandise inventory is maintained at all times.
Establish, maintain and build guest counts in all franchised or corporate units.
Oversee and assist the franchisees, their staff and Operations staff during restaurant openings, directing the training and development of staff.
Monitor in hiring, orientation, training and development of all employees.
Conduct and co-ordinate restaurant take-overs.
Ensure that all repairs and maintenance are completed on time and all units operate properly.
