Logistics Coordinator – Richmond Food Bank Society – Vancouver BC

Job Overview:
Position overview
Reporting to the General Manager, you will be responsible for driving a 3 ton refrigerated vehicle to pick up donations of food from locations throughout and beyond Richmond. In the warehouse, you’ll be helping to receive and process these donations, which involves forklift operation and using pallet-jacks. You will handle, move, load and unload goods by hand or with a variety of handling equipment. A solid understanding of inventory management and general warehouse operations will be a strong asset in this role.

Key responsibilities
Inbound outbound and internal logistics;
Receive, weigh, record, unload and put away incoming products into inventory;
Inspect inbound for accuracy, defects or damages;
Help manage outbound waste stream when needed;
Loading and unloading of vehicles when needed;
Complete required pre-shift inspections on all industrial equipment;
Check inbound food quality and report issues with General Manager;
Put away all stock, make sure floor is clear of pallets and obstacles at all time;
Provide coverage for warehouse and/or distribution staff as needed.

Qualifications and experience
Valid Forklift Operator Training certification;
Class 5 License with clean driving record;
2+ years of experience driving 3 ton refrigerated vehicle or comparable;
Experience using forklifts and electric pallet-jacks in warehouse facility;
Knowledge of Windows Microsoft Office Suite;
A recent Food Safe Level 1 is an asset.

Physical requirements
The ability to walk and stand for extended periods;
Bending and lifting boxes up to 50 lbs on a regular basis.
Exposure to ambient temperatures and noisy conditions.
Schedule and Hours:
This is a fixed-term (temporary) 3 month position at 20 hours per week. We are actively recruiting for this job opportunity, so please apply now if you are interested.
Work hours are normally 8:00AM or 9:00AM – 12:00PM or 1:00PM, Monday through Thursdays and Saturdays, though this schedule may be adjusted to allow for occasional weekend or late-afternoon work.

Compensation: $20/hour
