Technical Coordinator – North Coast-Skeena First Nations Stewardship Society

Experience and Skills required:
Coordination skills to support technical team meetings including developing agendas, chairing meetings as required, scheduling and organizing in-person, phone, and online meetings;
Time-management and organizational skills dealing with multiple projects and products with tight timelines, including tracking and organizing working materials;
Excellent technical and communications skills to develop meeting summaries, produce technical/management briefings, reports and other communications products, as well as to solicit and incorporate feedback;
Working closely with Teams to develop workplans, Statements of Work, Request for Proposals, evaluate proposals, and manage related contracts;
Developing and monitoring workflows, actions and deliverables, and reporting on progress;
Promote partnerships with officials from various levels of government, specialists, First Nations representatives and stakeholders;
Familiarity with technologies/software such as Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Doodle Poll, online conferencing platforms such as GoTo Meeting, and experience with GIS and R-code is an advantage;
Must be able to work effectively as part of a team as well as work efficiently on your own to complete tasks as directed;
Candidates with experience working with First Nations on collaborative initiatives is beneficial;
Familiarity and experience working with BC North Coast First Nations is a definite asset; and,
Must have access to a vehicle and a valid class 5 driver’s license as some travel may be required.

Education Required
(A combination of related skills and experience may be considered in lieu):
Bachelor’s Degree in Environmental Studies, Marine Planning, Fisheries Biologist or related field
Advanced degree/certificates in community development, communication is an asset
Location:
Local applicants are preferred. However, this role may be performed remotely but will need excellent computing, telephone and internet access, and will involve some travel.
