Volunteer Event Coordinator – GreenPAC – Toronto, Ontario

 Job Description:

GreenPAC is a cross-partisan political action committee that seeks to build environmental leadership at all levels of Canadian government. To achieve this we will endorse, elect, support, and celebrate strong environmental leaders from all political parties. Our efforts are largely driven by our Board of Directors, Advisory Board and Expert Panel – all of which are volunteers.

We are seeking a Volunteer Event Coordinator to help plan and execute our presence on March 27-29th at the Toronto Green Living Show, Canada’s largest consumer show dedicated to all things green. This unpaid position begins February 20 and concludes on March 29th.

GreenPAC’s presence at the show includes a panel discussion with leading Canadian environmental leaders, followed by a reception and media launch. GreenPAC will also have a volunteer-run booth stationed at the Green Living Show.

As Volunteer Event Coordinator, you will be required to work closely with staff and board members to help execute the panel and reception, manage and coordinate the booth at the show, assist with the organization of materials, and help liaise with vendors.

GreenPAC Booth

Work closely with staff and board to recruit and schedule volunteers to promote GreenPAC at our booth.
Communicate with various vendors to make sure that print materials and swag are ready and available for the show.
Organize prizes and email signups for the booth and liaise with partners to secure raffle prizes.

Panel and Reception

Work closely with staff and board to confirm logistics for reception including any technical requirements and multi-media presentations (minimal time required).
Support key members of the board to liaise with and recruit panelists – helping to make sure they have all the information needed for the event.

Skills Required:

Must have previous experience in event planning and organization.
Must be able to work independently as well as coordinate with a team.
Ability to meet weekly deadlines and targets.
Flexible – we are a small start-up and so we need someone who has previous experience working with other volunteers.
Knowledge of Canadian political and environmental issues will be considered an asset.

Time Commitment:

Must have access to a computer, be able to work remotely, and be accessible via email.
Five hours minimum commitment per week starting February 20.
Be able to attend a volunteer organization meeting TBD.
Available for one 30 minute call with staff once a week.
Must be available March 26-29, 2015 to volunteer full-time at the Green Living show.

How To Apply:

Please send an email by February 16, 2015 to:
