Sustainable Food Production Apprentice – Victoria – Wray Creek Farm

We are looking for a hardworking individual who is interested in local, organic farming and wants to get an excellent tan this summer!

Wray Creek Farm (FB and website) is a premier producer of local organic vegetables, small fruits and eggs. Since starting 3 years ago we have developed to now be selling at two farmers markets (expanding to three this year) and delivering about 50 CSA boxes a week through the summer. We grow a broad selection of vegetables from asparagus to zucchini with an emphasis on intensive, high quality production.

We are offering a full-time position from now till the end of August. You need to be engaged, self-starting, cheerful and (obviously) not afraid to get your hands dirty. Tasks may include any jobs associated with the farm from soil preparation to seeding, planting, weeding, harvest and market preparation. You will be running one of our market stands on Saturdays and may be delivering the CSA boxes so clean drivers license is definitely an asset. Any and all tasks associated with transforming a seed into high quality organic vegetables in our happy customer’s hands. Experience an asset but we are more interested in attitude and interest.

You must qualify for Canada Student Employment Program funding: i.e., you must have been a full time student in 2015-16 and be registered to return to school in the fall. We pay $12 an hour and the hours will be fairly regular, 8 hour days, 5 days a week.
Up for it?
