Job Description:
The Town of St Paul is seeking a permanent full time Director of Finance. The position would report to the Chief Administrative Officer and serve as part of the management group of the town. The successful candidate will have accreditation or be working toward, a professional accounting designation. Experience in the municipal government environment would be an asset.

The duties and responsibilities of the position will include:
Monitoring the town’s financial plan
Preparation of monthly financial reports including variance analysis
Preparation of supporting schedules and working  papers for the auditors
Review and examine financial systems and recommend changes to provide better accounting controls and efficiencies
Working with other members of staff in the preparation and reporting of grants and funding from other levels of government
Preparation of budgets and calculation of tax rates
Other duties related to the financial performance of the town
