Fundraising Coordinator – SPCA Newfoundland and Labrador – St. John’s

The Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (SPCA) St. John’s is hiring a Fundraising Coordinator. Based at the SPCA Shelter, and reporting to the Executive Director, you are the lead responsible for all issues pertaining to the planning and implementation of fundraising initiatives. More than 90% of our annual funds come from donations, making this position key to our continued success.

Your duties include the following:

Marketing and sales of a Corporate Recognition Program
Maintaining and expanding the donor base through the implementation of targeted donor development initiatives in both the private and corporate sectors
Ensuring smooth oversight and implementation of current fundraising initiatives
Researching, developing and promoting new fundraising  initiatives
Preparing and delivering applications, proposals and presentations for grants from government, foundations, trusts or other funding sources
Preparing the content and publication of the quarterly Newsletter
Performing key support in marketing and internal communications activities of the SPCA including involvement with social media, earned media, advertising and others
Supporting management and continuous improvement of on-going fundraising initiatives, including the SPCA Thrift Store

Your skills include:

Competency in both written and oral communication in all forms of media.
Strong communications skills, including the ability to work with a variety of staff and volunteer personalities in a fast-paced environment.
Strong organizational skills in all areas of fundraising management
Excellent time management skills
Project management skills to be applied to Event Planning and Execution
Strong attention to detail and documentation processes
Computer literacy in Microsoft suite of products and office productivity products
Knowledge of  ‘Giftworks’, ‘Sumac” or similar data base, experience in layout and design with Quark Express would be definite assets.
Ability to work productively in an independent, unsupervised environment
