Administrative Assistant – The Nova Scotia College of Pharmacists (NSCP) – Halifax City

Position Description

The position is for a full time administrative assistant working with the Nova Scotia College of Pharmacists (NSCP). The NSCP is the regulatory authority for the practice of pharmacy in Nova Scotia, with a mandate to maintain standards of practice and professional accountability in the practice of pharmacy. The NSCP licenses pharmacists, pharmacy technicians and pharmacies, regulating the practice of these professionals and the community pharmacies where they practice.

Summary and Accountabilities

Working in a team environment, you will be required to provide a full range of administrative duties with a high degree of competence and independence. You will perform precise data management activities such as entering information into the Nova Scotia College of Pharmacist’s registration database, running reports and queries, and preparing spreadsheets for review. You will be expected to use your desktop publishing skills to create documents, presentations, and reports. As the first point of contact, you will greet walk-in visitors, directing them to the appropriate team member as required. You will manage incoming calls and emails efficiently, responding to inquiries in a timely manner. You will be responsible for overseeing the organization’s general maintenance (e.g. general tidying, replenishing supplies, and organizing/planning for meetings), as well as coordinating maintenance contract work. Additional administrative duties will include sorting mail, photocopying, preparing mailings, maintaining a filing system, arranging meetings or other activities, and other general office duties.

You exhibit proficient computer skills and have substantial experience working with Microsoft Office Professional Suite and Adobe software. You have a minimum grade 12 education, a recognized Administration or Business Certificate/Diploma, and a minimum of two years’ experience in a professional office environment.

Salary

Salary is commensurate with education and experience.
