Our Electric Utility Department is seeking a Driver/Helper to join their crew. You must bring the experience, the willingness and the flexibility to perform a broad variety of work. Your duties will include providing general assistance in both the yard and the stores area; driving all vehicles and machinery as needed and providing assistance to tradespeople in the field.

Requirements include:

Completion of Grade 12 (or equivalent), supplemented by demonstrated experience and mechanical aptitude in trades such as construction. Preference may be given to those with electrical trades exposure/experience.
Valid Class 3 Driver’s License with Air Brake Endorsement.
Considerable knowledgeable of and ability to follow WorkSafe BC safety practices and WHMIS regulations as related to the work.
Working knowledge of the principles of storekeeping or inventory/supplies oversight will be considered an asset.
Ability to effectively work both independently and as part of a crew.
Ability to safely operate a variety of vehicles, tools and equipment.
Ability to perform a variety of manual record-keeping tasks.
Ability to work outdoors in all conditions, including inclement weather.
Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing with a wide variety of internal and external contacts.
Ability to establish and maintain effective liaison and working relationships with internal contacts and to demonstrate exceptional customer service skills.
The successful candidate must be able to successfully complete and maintain a clear Police Information Check.
