The City of Terrace has a vacancy for a highly-skilled, organized individual to fill the full-time management position of Executive Assistant – CAO & Council with the Administration Department.

The position primarily involves:

Preparing Council and Committee agendas, and typing minutes and reports;
Drafting correspondence for the Chief Administrative Officer and Mayor and Council, including matters of a highly confidential nature;
Maintaining Council’s calendar and scheduling appointments;
Organizing and coordinating Council travel, including the preparation of expense claim forms;
Organizing and coordinating presentations from Council, special events, and attendance at various functions;
Assisting in the preparation of the City of Terrace Annual Report, including research and compilation; and
Performing other related administrative duties as required.

The successful applicant will have a proven ability to work well with the public and co-workers, and to produce work under strict timelines.  A minimum typing speed of 70 wpm is required, and a high-level of accuracy is essential.  Extensive secretarial, organizational, and computer experience is also required with a proven ability in a Windows environment using Word and Excel software.  Experience with PowerPoint and iCompass software is an asset. Preference will be given to candidates with knowledge of local government operations.

This is a Management (exempt) position with a 35 hour-work week, plus attendance at scheduled Council meetings, as required.  An attractive salary and benefits package is offered commensurate with qualifications and experience.
